Rules

Just like any dance competition, there are some rules to ensure a good experience for everyone. Please read carefully and feel free to contact us with any questions.

VIDEO ENTRIES

Entries may only be from this season (2019/2020). They may be recorded in your studio, or from a prior competition/show. Video quality is not judged, but most be good enough to accurately show the performance. Videos must be all one performance the entire way through. No cuts/editing/splicing of multiple performances allowed.

AGE DIVISIONS

Age divisions should be selected based on a dancer's age as of January 1st. In groups, take the average age by adding all the dancers' ages together and dividing by the number of dancers in the routine. Drop any decimals and do not round up. Ex: a duet of a 10 year old and 8 year old would be 18/2 = 9 years.

GENRE + LEVEL

Select the most appropriate genre for your routine from the drop down list. If you cannot find the exact genre you are looking for select "Open". Dancers are divided into 3 competitive levels based on the number of hours they dance per week. Please be honest when selecting dancer's levels. We WILL move up competitive dancers that are under-placed (triples/aerials/backhandsprings placed in novice, etc).

TITLE

Soloists who wish to compete for title must be registered in the competitive division and registered under "Title Solo" to be eligible. We will award one male and female title per age group. The number of awarded runners-up will be determined by the total number of entries.

OVERALLS + AWARDS

Whenever possible based on the number of entries, we will try to award a top 10. Sometimes it may be necessary to only award a top 5, top 3, or a high score. All routines placing for an overall will receive a certificate of achievement. The highest overall routine of every division will receive a trophy. Special awards will be determined at the discretion of the judges.

PRIVACY

We realize there may be concerns with submitting videos of current competition routines. We promise to never save, share, or post these videos anywhere. They will only ever be seen by our judges. Only students participating in awards ceremonies at their own studio location who agree to have their picture taken and submitted will ever appear on our website/media pages. Names of overall soloists will be posted in a results section.
